Englishman Korede Aiyegbusi scored a freak goal for Kansas City Wizards in a bye-week friendly against the University of Tulsa at the end of last month. Left back Aiyegbusi looks to play a ball over the top to the forwards but in trying to combat the 20mph winds going in the opposite direction he overcompensates and strikes the ball with too hard. However, the result ends up being better than any through ball…
Commentary on the video is by Wizards manager Peter Vermes.
Korede Aiyegbusi is a new recruit in Kansas City, being drafted in the second round (20th overall) of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft. Born in London, Korede moved to America in 2006 to attend college and played soccer for the four years of his education. Still only 21, he made his debut as a late second half substitute in the first MLS game of the season.
Korede will be joined by Ryan Smith and Craig Rocastle as Kansas City Wizards play David Beckham’s LA Galaxy at 1:30am BST Sunday morning (tonight).
