Midweek Roundup 10-13th May

Olympiacos lost 1-0 for the second time in four days against PAOK to end their hopes of Champions League football next season. Matt Derbyshire played up front. Olympiacos will now be in the Europa League in 2010/11.

BSC Young Boys went down to a heavy 5-1 defeat at Luzern. Scott Sutter finally returned from his abductor injury as a second half substitute but could do nothing to change the score line. Young Boys now slip down to 2nd in the Super League on goal difference.  Young Boys play table toppers Basel in the final league game of the season knowing a victory would earn young boys the Swiss title for the first time in twenty five years.

David Booth’s Mahindra United lost 2-1 against Salgaocar in their last game of the season. Mahindra are 3rd in the I-league but could end up finishing 4th if the club below them wins their game in hand.

Fram beat IBV 2-0 in a game that involved three Englishmen. Sam Tillen started for Fram while his brother Joe Tillen came on in the second half. Matt Garner played 90 minutes for IBV at the back.

Balestier Khalsa got a 1-0 win at Gombak with Daniel Hammond at the heart of defence as usual. Balestier Khalsa stay in 9th in the S-League.

Elfsborg beat AIK comprehensively, winning 4-0.  Kenny Pavey was back to right midfield with the return of regular full back Swede Niklas Backman; James Keene came on with 20 minutes to go. Elfsborg were 2-0 at half time and the game was won when AIK had a man sent off and gave away a penalty for Elfsborg’s third goal at the start of the second half. Elfsborg stay in 4th in Allsvenskan while AIK are 15th.

Molde lost 4-1 at Viking as Ben Amos was on the bench. Molde are 12th in Tippeligaen with twelve points. Molde also played in the NM Cupen this midweek, beating Surnadal 3-1.

Viva Kerala ended the Indian season with a 1-1 draw against Mohun Bagan. Patrick Sisupalan was in his regular midfield slot. Viva Kerala end up in 10th in the I-league.

Interblock lost 0-1 to Velenje in Slovenia. Jamie Sheldon came on late on in the second half. Interblock are 9th in PrvaLiga and will stay there unless they lose and the bottom side win on Saturday.

Valur drew 2-2 in their first game of the season in Iceland against Hafnarfjordur. Ian Jeffs was in the starting eleven for Valur.

TPS won 3-1 at PPV in the1st round of the Suomen Cup.

GAIS played out a 0-0 stalemate with IFK Göteborg. Calum Angus started his first game of the season at right back and Kyle Patterson came on in 90th minute. GAIS slip to 6th in Allsvenskan.
