Eddie Johnson started for Adrian Heath’s Austin Aztex as they won their opening game of the season 2-0 over Montreal Impact.
On Monday GAIS beat Örebro 2-0 with Kyle Patterson coming on as a 90th minute sub.
In their second game in four days GAIS won again with a 2-1 victory over Gefle. Patterson came on in the 70th minute to help close out the victory. Calum Angus wasn’t involved in either of the games. GAIS now sit 5th in Allsvenskan one month into the league season.

Scott Sutter was still sidelined with an abductor injury as his BSC Young Boys lost 2-1 at third placed Grasshoppers. Young boys lead at the top of the Super League has now been cut to three points ahead of Basel with six games left to play.
Steve McClaren will be feeling hard done by as FC Twente lost 1-0 at AZ. On the way to the game the Twente didn’t have the best preparation as their team coach was pelted with stones. AZ only managed to score through an own goal and Twente were denied a stonewall penalty for a blatant handball. With Ajax winning Twente’s lead is down to one point in Eredivisie with just two games left.
Ancona picked up a point, drawing 2-2 with Vicenza. Defender Kris Thackray made his sixth league appearance of the season as he came on in the 72nd minute. Ancona are on fifty points in 8th place in Serie B.
In US Open Cup Qualifying Gary Smith’s Colorado rapids advanced with a 2-1 over Kansas City Wizards. Englishmen Olukorede Aiyegbusi and Craig Rodcastle played for Kansas City
Daniel Hammond played in defence during Balestier Khalsa’s 2-2 draw at Home Utd. Balestier Khalsa are now 9th in the S-League.
Mark Howard made his long awaited return to first team football after recovering from injury as AGF lost 1-0 to Midtjylland. AGF are on a dangerous slide in SAS Ligaen as they are now 10th, only 5 points off the relegation zone.
AIK fell to their fourth consecutive loss, going down 1-0 to Halmstad. Kenny Pavey filled in at right back for AIK. The current Swedish champions are undergoing a terrible start to the season, currently being 15th in Allsvenskan with only two points.
