Midweek Roundup 19th-22nd April

Fulham’s on loan midfielder Robert Milsom made his debut for Finnish side TPS as they drew 0-0 at Haka in their first Veikkausliiga game of the season. Chris Cleaver was named on the bench but didn’t get on to the pitch.

David Booth’s Mahindra United went down to their second successive loss, being beaten 3-1 by third placed Mohun Bagan AC. The Mumbai based club are now seven points off leaders Dempo SC in the I-League, with three games left to go it looks like an almost certainty that Mahindra will have to settle on finishing runners up this year.

AIK finally got their first league win of the season as they won 3-0 against hosting Kalmar. Kenny Pavey started and set up the third goal with a good cross from the edge of the box. The reigning Swedish champions are now 14th in Allsvenskan after a dreadful start to the campaign; Pavey and co. will be hoping that this result will be the beginning of a climb up the table.

Daniel Hammond’s loan side Balestier Khalsa won 1-0 at home against Sengkang Punggol. Hammond played a full game in defence. Balestier Khalsa move up to 6th in the S-League, ten games in to the Singaporean season.

Ferencváros drew 0 – 0 with bitter rivals Újpest in a dead rubber game in the Magyar Liga Kupa. Both teams already knew that they couldn’t qualify out of Group B, Craig Short’s side finish in 4th on goal difference.

Vllaznia Shkodër lost 2-0 at Kastrioti Krujë in Albania. Jamie Phoenix’s side drop to 7th in Kategoria Superiore, with three games to play they are two points off the relegation playoff places.

Viva Kerala lost 3-1 to Pune FC, Raman Patrick Sisupalan playing in midfield. Viva Kerala slip a place to 8th in the I-League.
