Weekend Roundup 28-30th May

In the game of the two final unbeaten records in the MLS, Columbus Crew lost 2-0 to LA Galaxy. Andy Iro continued to play in defence due to Chad Marshall’s absence. Los Angeles are now ten points clear at the top of the Western Conference, Columbus remain on top of the Eastern Conference despite the loss.

Interblock Ljubljana lost 3-0 to Triglav Gorenjska and therefore being relegated as they lost the tie 4-0 on aggregate. Ben Gill played 90 minutes in midfield.

Stuart Baxter’s Finland side drew 0-0 away at Poland in a friendly.

Colorado Rapids won 1-0 at home against Seattle Sounders. Gary Smith’s team slip to 4th in the Western Conference.

Ancona got a vital 2-2 draw with Mantova that confirmed their Serie B status for next season. Kris Thackray played at the back and ends the season with nine league appearances. Ancona finish in 17th in Serie B, only one point above the relegation playoff places.

Kansas City Wizards went down to a 4-1 defeat at current MLS champions Real Salt Lake. Ryan Smith played the full match but both Korede Aiyegbusi and Craig Rocastle were unused subs. Kansas City are now 6th in the Eastern Conference.
