Weekend Roundup 7-9th May

AGF got a vital 1-0 win at Nordsjælland with Mark Howard playing in the heart of the defence. AGF remain in the relegation zone in SAS Ligaen and will need to win their final game to have a chance of survival.

Maccabi Ahi Nazareth lost 2-0 at Hapoel Raanana.  The result means John Gregory’s side slip back into the drop zone in the Ligat Al Relegation Playoff. However Nazareth still have a chance to stay up, they need to win their last game and hope Hapoel Ra’anana don’t win.

Matt Derbyshire started up front as Olympiacos lost 1-0 at PAOK. Olympiacos are 2nd now in the race for the Champions League place.

LA Galaxy came out with a surprisingly easy 4-0 win at Seattle Sounders. Los Angeles remain top of the Western Conference.

DVTK lost 1-0 at Paks to be relegated from the Hungarian top flight, Rohan Ricketts didn’t play. DVTK are bottom of NB I and only three wins in a row would give them any chance of changing that.

Santa Clara won 2-0 over Aves but it wasn’t enough to gain promotion. Matt Jones didn’t play in the match. Santa Clara finish the season 4th in Liga de Honra, three points off the promotion places.

Ferencváros won 3-2 against Kecskemeti in an encounter that was the very definition of a game of two halves. Sam Stockley and Anthony Elding both started with Anthony getting the second goal with a cool finish. FTC were 3-0 up at half time but went down to ten men after the break as Kecskemeti made a comeback. The victory means Craig Short’s team are in 7th in NB I with thirty five points.

Kenny Pavey played 90 minutes as AIK got an important 1-0 win over Trelleborg. AIK climb up to 15th in Allsvenskan and really need to use this win to kick start their season.

APOP/Kinyras lost their last game of the season 5-2 to AEL Limassol. APOP finish 4th in 1. Division Group B.

Ancona had a man sent off as they lost 3-0 at Brescia, Kris Thackray didn’t play. Ancona are 12th in Serie B.

Real Zaragoza lost 3-2 to Xerez without Jermaine Pennant being in the squad.  Zaragoza are 15th in La Liga and can’t finish any lower than that.

TPS drew 1-1 at home against VPS. Robert Milsom played the full game and Chris Cleaver came on at the start of the second half. TPS are currently 2nd in Veikkausliiga with eight points from four games.

Elfsborg lost 2-0 at Mjällby as James Keene regained his place in that starting line up. Elfsborg slip to 5th in Allsvenskan.

Columbus Crew beat New England 3-2 with Andy Iro missing his first game of the season as an unused sub. Columbus are 2nd in the Eastern Conference.

Ankaragücü went down to a 3-0 defeat at home against league leaders Fenerbahce. Ankaragücü are 11th in the Super Lig and can’t finish any higher.

Ben Webster wasn’t involved as MyPa lost 4-2 JJK Jyväskylä . Mypa are 13th in Veikkausliiga.
