Steve McClaren Joins Wolfsburg

Steve McClaren agreed last night to be the new manager of German side VfL Wolfsburg.

McClaren agreed to leave Eredivisie champions FC Twente and join the Bundesliga outfit last night with him officially taking over the job on 1st July. The 49 year old signs a two year contract with a reported annual salary of three million euros.

The former Middlesbrough boss had been linked with a host of clubs since winning the Dutch league nine days ago. Wolfsburg were always the favourites for his signature if he decided to move on and he was in Germany last Friday talking to club officials.

Margate Man Off To Iceland

Dan Stubbs has agreed to join Icelandic side KA Akureyri from Ryman League Premier Division side Margate.

The 20 year old midfielder came through the Ebbsfleet United youth system and will join the team from north Iceland hopefully in time to play in the season opener this Sunday. Read the rest of this entry »





MLS Move Delayed For Rodgers

Luke Rodgers is still struggling to obtain a Visa to allow him to work in the United States and join the New York Red Bulls.

It had previously been expected from all the sound bites the NY management and coaching staff had been giving that Luke’s move was just a matter of days away from completion.

However yesterday Red Bulls boss Hans Backe gave the first indication that things might take longer than that to allow Rodgers to feature in the MLS. Read the rest of this entry »
